Come across from Caroline Chisholm Drive or down Old Windsor Road. From the Mall end, allow eight minutes and you will arrive with time to spare. From the Junction Road side it is closer to five.

Parking is free, off-street and unrestricted. No shopping centre ticket, no clock running while you are in the chair, no ramp or lift between the car and the door.

Cost & rebates

What Does a Check-Up and Clean Cost?

Not one dental practice competing for Winston Hills publishes a price or explains how a rebate works. Here is how it actually goes.

You get a written quote before we start, with the Australian Dental Association item numbers included. A standard check-up visit usually covers three of them: the examination, the scale and clean, and fluoride. Item numbers matter because they are what your health fund quotes against. Ring your fund with those numbers and you will get your exact rebate rather than a guess.

  • ADA item The examination
  • ADA item The scale and clean
  • ADA item Fluoride

We claim on the spot through HICAPS where your policy allows, so you pay the gap at the counter rather than paying in full and waiting for a refund.

Claimed on the spot through HICAPS

Two more things worth knowing. Extras limits reset each calendar year, and preventive and major dental normally carry separate limits, so splitting a bigger treatment plan across December and January often cuts the out-of-pocket. And DVA cardholders are welcome.

Fees are set by the practice. Ring (02) 9674 1964 for a current quote on any treatment.

The suburb's own dentistry

Why Do Fillings From the 1980s Need Replacing?

Winston Hills was built in the 1970s and 80s, and a lot of our long-standing patients from the suburb are now dealing with the dentistry that came with it.

Amalgam fillings do not last forever. Thirty or forty years of chewing puts hairline cracks through the tooth around them, decay creeps in underneath where you cannot see it, and eventually the tooth needs more than a patch. That is not neglect. That is arithmetic.

What we do about it depends on how much tooth is left. Sometimes a new filling is enough. Sometimes it needs a crown to hold the tooth together, and occasionally the tooth has gone too far and an implant or a bridge replaces it.

We will show you the X-ray and explain which of those you are looking at, and roughly when. Knowing a crown is two years away is worth a lot more than finding out on a Tuesday night.

Dental Care for Winston Hills Families

General dentistry

Check-ups, scale and clean, fillings, extractions.

Preventive care

The work that keeps you out of the chair for the bigger jobs.

Crowns and bridges

To restore worn or cracked teeth.

Dental implants and dentures

For teeth that have gone too far to keep.

Root canal treatment

Saving a tooth rather than losing it.

Children's dentistry and custom mouthguards

First visits, sealants and sport-fitted guards.

Emergency dentistry

Time held free every morning for urgent cases.

Philips Zoom teeth whitening

In-chair whitening, shade planned before we start.

Whitening and existing restorations

Whitening will not change the colour of crowns, veneers or white fillings. Many Winston Hills patients have restorations across their front teeth after four decades in the same mouth. We plan the shade first so everything matches. Sometimes that means replacing a filling afterwards.

After hours

What Should I Do About a Dental Emergency After Hours?

Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, 9am – 5.30pm

We open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, and we are closed Tuesdays. No competing Winston Hills page names an after-hours pathway, so here it is.

Go to Blacktown Hospital emergency for facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or a jaw injury. For a knocked-out adult tooth, put it back in the socket or keep it in milk and get to a dentist within the hour. For ordinary toothache, a hospital will manage the pain and the infection but will not repair the tooth.

Ring us at 9am. We keep time free each morning for urgent cases.

Continuity

Why Winston Hills Patients Choose Us

46 years at one address

The strongest claim any competing Winston Hills practice makes is 30 years, and most are well under it. We have treated more than 10,000 patients from this building.

The same dentist, every visit

Not a roster. For a tooth watched, filled and eventually crowned across two decades, that continuity is the difference between treatment and guesswork.

Records that go back decades

If your previous dentist retired, we request your file and X-rays with your written consent. You do not need a referral or a phone call to them.
